Here we see a rare treat for the Cave-in-Rock enthusiast. A translucent, deep golden color calcite crystal shows several high order faces with sharp edges and superb luster. The locality for the piece is the Denton Mine, Cave-in-Rock, Hardin County, Illinois, USA. The specimen measures 5.6 cm wide by 4.6 cm tall and 3.5 cm front to back. The only imperfection seems to be a small blemish on the back edge where it was removed from the matrix.
