Hematite and Andradite Crystals, N’Chwaning II Mine, South Africa


Hematites exhibiting sharp crystal edges and good luster are arranged aesthetically with some contrasting orange-red micro andradite garnets. The specimen measures 2.5 cm wide by 3.4 cm tall and 2 cm front to back. The locality for the piece is the N’Chwaning II Mine, Kuruman, Kalahari Manganese Field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa. The display side of the specimen is in fine shape having no discernable damage, with light contacts to the base and back side.
